Real Weddings: A Late Winter Rustic Wedding at The Gables at Chadds Ford Part One

Michael and Morgan’s wedding at The Gables at Chadds Ford in the Brandywine Valley was simply stunning. You know that we love the little details of a wedding and this wedding was full of them! To begin with, the cameo wedding silhouette wedding invitations added a romantic vintage feel to the wedding day.

The couple exchanged wedding day gifts with Morgan giving him a watch with a card saying “it’s about time I get to marry you.”  They also each give their parents an inscribed handkerchief reading “today a groom, tomorrow a husband, always your son” and “today a bride, tomorrow a wife, always your daughter.”  (Photographer Samantha Jay Photography did an amazing job of capturing these little details-tell your wedding photographer that you want these details captured!)

The terrace at The Gables was a perfect setting for the outside ceremony with lush gardens and a stone wall serving as an altar. We loved the chalkboard signs-such a cute, rustic touch!

Real Weddings: A Late Summer Wedding in Blue Bell Part Two

After a stunning outdoor ceremony (see it here!), Sarah and Nick hosted a reception that was equally rustic, nature-inspired, and fun! We love that they gave out wildflower seeds as wedding favors-such a simple favor that will remind the guests of their day for years to come. For a whimsical touch, the couple had guests sign a “Jenga” guestbook. (Jenga is a popular board game where 54 blocks are stacked upon each other and players remove one block at a time hoping the structure doesn’t fall.  If a player removes a block and the tower falls, that player loses. With a Jenga guestbook, guests sign the individual blocks as a nice keepsake for the couple.) The final fun touch for this wedding- a “treat yoself” dessert bar sign. Love it!

Real Weddings: A Late Summer Nature Wedding in Blue Bell

Sarah and Nick found the perfect venue for a late summer wedding that was perfectly rustic and nature inspired.  Besides boasting a barn to serve as the background for a first look, the Manor House at Prophecy Creek Park has over eighty acres of landscaped grounds which created so many breathtaking photo opps and provided a unique place for a ceremony.

Of course, we’re loving the flowers-the combination of pink and orange flowers combined with greens pops next to the lush grounds. Bonus though-the flowers are all DIY. The bride had been taking flower arranging classes with her mom leading up to the wedding, then visited cut-your-own flowers farms, and did the arrangements herself. How awesome is that!
