2017 Wedding Cake Trends: Naked Cakes

One of the hottest wedding cake trends for the rest of 2016 and 2017 in the Philadelphia area are naked cakes. By now, you’ve probably seen these cakes in wedding magazines. The idea is simple-a delicious cake with nearly none of the frosting that commonly adorns traditional cakes. With these cakes, you can see the actual cake. (Semi-naked cakes have more frosting on them.) They’re usually topped with fresh fruit like berries, flowers, or decorations like pinecones or leaves to adorn them. Whatever they’re topped with, the emphasis is on nature and the cake actually tasting great, not a decoration a baker spent 30 hours making.

Modern invites are such a refreshing change of pace. Instead of leaves or hearts, the font and color choices are bold and different yet the choice of pink and grey is still charming enough for a wedding.  This modern typography invite strikes the right balance between modern and romantic.
